The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education
AASHE is the leading Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, with the mission to “inspire and catalyze higher education to accelerate the transition towards a just and sustainable world”. Baylor is 1 of over 900 members across 20 countries, who look to AASHE for essential resources and professional development opportunities that equip and empower education faculty, administrators, staff, and students to solve sustainability challenges both on campus and worldwide.
The Office of Sustainability utilizes AASHE resources to guide the implementation of campus sustainability efforts operationally, as well as within academics, student engagement, and public leadership.

The Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability
The Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability serves as a rich network of inter-campus collaborations across Texas that provides resources, expertise, education, peer to peer support, and training to lead the world into a sustainable future.
In addition to Baylor Office of Sustainability’s membership with TRACS, our Senior Director of Sustainability, Gary Cocke, serves on the executive committee for TRACS as the Communications Committee Co-Chair.
The Green Communities Conference
The Green Communities Conference convenes sustainability leaders from across the nation to foster collaboration, and cultivate meaningful conversations surrounding sustainability, resiliency, and community growth in Texas. This annual conference is organized by the Waco Sustainability Network, a diverse coalition of individuals and organizations from across Texas, united in their mission to tackle resiliency challenges within their communities.
In Spring 2024, the Office of Sustainability joined the Waco Sustainability Network and planning committee for the Green Communities Conference.
