Resilient Hope in a Changing World
Resilient Hope in a Changing World is a collaborative initiative between the Baylor Sustainability Office and the Baylor Counseling Center (BUCC) designed to support those who are experiencing climate anxiety on Baylor's campus.
Climate anxiety—also known as eco-anxiety—refers to the distress people may feel about climate change and its impacts on the natural world and human life. It is important to recognize that this response is normal, emotional, and adaptive in the face of environmental crisis. This program creates space to process those feelings, build resilience, and cultivate hope in community with others.
The series launched with a guest lecture on February 25th, Climate Anxiety and Mindfulness, offering practical strategies for coping and resilience. Following the kickoff event, we will host recurring co-curricular experiences designed to foster restoration, connection, and joy outside the classroom. Event frequency will vary depending on the activity and campus partnerships involved.
Help Shape Resilient Hope
We are designing our recurring co-curricular experiences — and we want your voice at the table.
From outdoor yoga and guided nature walks to creative workshops and service opportunities, your input will help us create gatherings that feel restorative, meaningful, and joyful.
👉 Take our 2-minute survey to tell us which activities you’d most like to see.
Through shared experiences in nature and intentional community-building, Resilient Hope in a Changing World invites us to move from isolation toward connection—and from anxiety toward grounded, collective hope.
