Campus Sustainability Month (CSM), held every October, is an international celebration that highlights sustainability efforts in higher education. Through events on campus and community activities, our goal for CSM is to engage students and campus stakeholders to take action, and join a collective movement of stewardship and care for creation.
We have chosen this year’s theme to be, “Inspiring Hope,” calling us to shine a light on the campus and community partners who continue to advance Baylor’s and Waco’s growth in the field of sustainability. At the same time, CSM provides the opportunity to celebrate Baylor’s renewed commitment to sustainability, as part of the Baylor In Deeds Strategic Plan, which led to the formation of the Sustainability Leadership Committee appointed by the President's Council in 2024. This summer (2025), after a year of collaborative vision-setting, the committee finalized the vision and goals that will guide Baylor’s holistic and unique contribution to the field of sustainability as it convenes partners for strategy development towards these goals in year 2. We invite you to join us throughout the month of October as we honor these commitments, celebrate the progress already made, and empower one another to continue cultivating a hopeful, sustainable future together.
