Eco Reps
Eco Reps are part-time student workers in the Office of Sustainability who act as peer educators and project leaders in support of Baylor Sustainability priorities. The program is intended to provide professional and educational development opportunities for Baylor students who have a passion for the environment, while preparing students to be sustainability leaders on campus and beyond.
Current Eco Reps
Eco Rep Roles & Responsibilities
The Garden Eco Rep serves as a liaison between the Office of Sustainability and the Baylor Community Gardens, supporting volunteer coordination, event logistics, outreach, and educational resources. This role assists with weekly volunteer hours, contributes to marketing efforts, and helps advance campus garden initiatives and produce distribution.
Lanu Kumzuk and Paul Conteh are our current Garden Eco Reps.
The Recycling & Waste Reduction Eco Rep leads educational and outreach initiatives to increase recycling literacy and prevent recycling contamination, while also supporting operational projects that improve recycling infrastructure on campus.
The Biodiversity Eco Rep leads operational, educational, and service initiatives that promote biodiversity conservation on Baylor’s campus, such as initiating and upholding our national recognition as a Tree Campus Higher Education institution.
Cherish your time as an Eco Rep! It is truly one of the greatest ways to make a long-lasting impact on Baylor, and I could not be more thankful.
