Texas Arbor Day Celebrations
2025
November 7th: In collaboration with Baylor Theatre and Environmental Humanities, one of Baylor's Texas Arbor Day celebration took place in the Baylor Community Garden for a morning of creativity, and connection. As part of the Climate Change Theatre Action project, Theatre students presented "A Little Green", a short play that uses the imagery of a forest wildfire to encourage us to look in different ways to find hope amidst destruction. Afterwards, we gathered to sew and prepare pieces for our community Climate Change Quilt — it was a wonderful opportunity to listen, reflect, and lend a hand (or a stitch) in imagining a better world.
December 17th: In partnership with BU-SETAC , Baylor hosted an additional Texas Arbor Day celebration in 2025, which took place in the BSB Fields. The graduate students gathered to plant an American Elm tree, learn about the importance of proper initial tree care when planting a new tree in an urban area, and make pinecone birdfeeder ornaments to support our winter pollinators on campus.
