Be Kind to Your Neighbor: Building Resilient Communities Together
October is Campus Sustainability Month, and our campus theme is “Inspiring Hope”. This aligns with mental health because resilience, connection, and hope are essential both for climate challenges and for managing stress, anxiety, and well-being. Just as sustainability asks us to care for the earth, “Be Kind to Your Neighbor” reminds us to care for ourselves and one another.
Hosted by the Counseling Center, the Mental Health Awareness Day 2025 objectives are:
- Raise awareness about mental health, including climate anxiety.
- Equip students with practical tools to manage stress and build resilience.
- Create a safe, welcoming space that encourages kindness, community, and collective action.
- Highlight the connection between mental health, safety, and sustainability.
