Lanu Kumzuk

Mr. Lanu Lanukumzuk is currently a student in the Master of Arts in Theology, Ecology, and Food Justice program at Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University. He is originally from the hill state of Nagaland, India, an indigenous community called “The Nagas.” Prior to enrolling at Baylor University, Mr. Lanu Lanukumzuk served for five years as an Associate Pastor at Ao Baptist Church, Guwahati, following the completion of his Master of Divinity degree. He later pursued a Master of Theology in Christian Ethics at The United Theological College, Bangalore, India, where he was actively involved in student leadership and served as the President of the Students’ Association.

Upon graduation, Mr. Lanu Lanukumzuk aspires to work among his own Naga people living along the border regions between India and Myanmar, communities that continue to exist in a liminal and marginalized socio-political space. He is deeply committed to holistic ministry and believes that, alongside proclaiming the gospel and providing education, the Theology, Ecology, and Food Justice program will equip him with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach food sustainability practices to remote tribal communities living in these border areas.
